Signing Onto CBS - Quick and Easy

Using the CBS shortcut, the user is presented with the "User Declaration and Acceptance" screen. When the user presses "Proceed", CBS presents the "CBS Sign-On" screen where the user enters their username and password. Note: this is the same sign-on as for the Alpha Page.

The access buttons are as follows:

  1. CBS Portal - This takes the user to the CBS Portal where all system functionality is available. It also opens e-GRAMs, and also provides an extensive set of menus for rapid navigation and browsing.

  2. Fast Port - Takes the user to the area of their normal work, quickly. It also opens all other relevant screens, usually including the CBS Portal and e-GRAMs.

  3. My Port - Goes to the area most pertinent to the user's own records. This may be Performance Management Items, Roster and timesheets, Preferences, Assessed Capabilities, HR File Notes ... even your own Career Plan. It is possible to set the system to provide just the right combination of screens for each individual user.

  4. WorkFlow - This takes the user directly to the administrative work that they need to work on at the point in time that they sign on.

  5. Where I Was - presents the user with the set of screens and data records where they last left the system [provided they signed-off using the "Pin and Exit" function from the "Application" menu]. Note: this function is not implemented in all clusters.

  6. All Ports - opens CBS Portal, e-GRAMs, general management console, and other screens relevant to the OU of the user.

  7. Mini Port - opens the highly tailored mini port for those users who do not need full system functionality.

  8. PMIs for My Staff - takes the user directly to PMIs for the user's staff. This is good for quick recording of staff issues and file notes.

  9. My PMIs - presents my own Performance Management Items. These could include PMIs from my superior, 360 reviews or planned PMIs to which I can add my own notes for future reference or discussion.

  10. My Roster - Shows my own roster for the coming week [or roster period]. From here it is just one click to my roster for any other period which I wish to peruse or discuss with the Ops Centre Co-ordinator.
