Training & Development Function  

CBS provides full details of the capabilities that each job needs and which your staff have. Where there is a deficit between the two, training and development is required. Where there is too great a gap, it may not be wise or cost-effective to embark on direct training.

Training needs can be expressed in terms of the set of capabilities which the person does not possess to sufficient quality or standard.

These can be determined from formal or informal assessment, deeming and/or performance appraisal.

Training courses and development activities and events can be designed or selected based on the definition of such capabilities.

Assessment before and after training can be done in terms of capabilities.

Practical experience can be encouraged by assigning staff to tasks and jobs which require such capabilities to be displayed, performed and appraised.

And the actual achievements and performance on the job can be appraised and recorded in terms of the performance requirements of such capabilities.

Log history of training and intended training plans and programs can be recorded in terms of the capabilities that the staff member required, requires, desires or has potential or aptitude for.

There is little doubt that with CBS Capabilities and its Assessment, Performance Appraisal, Assignment and Training needs functions, an enterprise is vastly better able to handle the HR roles and cope with HR issues as they arise from time to time.
