Results from Productivity Rostering - Save Time & Cost

There are six key ways that Compass saves staff cost in the client Enterprise.

1.  By using the advanced rostering and the dynamic work assignment modules, the actual hours required in the Enterprise may be substantially reduced. This can be achieved quite quickly, once Compass Business System is installed, and the savings are sustainable over time.

2.  Compass allows the enterprise, through automated rostering of staff in an optimal way, to make the best utilization of their available hours at ordinary time without having to resort to rostering staff at overtime rates.

3.  The Capabilities Module allows the rostering engines to select, quite specifically, the most appropriately skilled staff for each job or assignment. This, in turn, increases staff efficiency and effectiveness, and reduces wastage of staff time, thereby, not only reducing costs, but also increasing customer and staff satisfaction.

4.  Staff can elect to finish their shift early. For instance, a staffmember may want to have more time off or not have to work as late in the day. In the event that customer demand is less than originally planned, there may be an opportunity to reduce the staffing level. Compass Business Suite can be used to send staff home early. The engine selects casual staff first in order to achieve the greatest saving in staff cost.

5.  When the Compass Business Suite's operational and business processes have been adopted by the enterprise, the capture of all staff/organization interactional data within the system allows a full audit history to be at hand at all times. This helps protect the enterprise from any unsubstantiated, unfair dismissal claims, by supplying much of the information and documentation required for staff counselling, disciplinary hearings and submission to courts.

6.  As a result of the focus on staff empowerment within the organizational design supported by the Compass Business Suite, the recruitment, counselling and disciplinary costs are likely to be reduced. Employees have clarity about what is expected of them and about how they can progress within the organization. They also have more choice about their work conditions. These factors have been shown to increase staff retention and reduce counselling and disciplinary incidents, thereby further reducing management time and effort as well as staff cost.

Clearly, if your enterprise were to make use of any or all of the Compass Business System functions listed above, it will benefit from improved input costs and efficiency thereby creating better business outcomes for all involved. Improvements to the working environment for all types of staff is a likely by-product.
