How to establish Scheduling Settings and Defaults

How to Set the Department / OU for which you are to Schedule
Note: When opened, the JSCH is presented containing pre-set Scheduling settings and FS options. These settings can be changed by the User at any time.

  • Press the 'Settings' button;

  • Under 'Scope', press the OU 'abc' button;

  • Select the desired OU/Department from the LoV presented.

  • Note: This action also sets the OU/Department restriction for performing a FS.

    For the set of WO's to be created, if the work is to be restricted to a specific entity [an OU, OUP, LE/Person] that has already been identified on the Asset Maintenance Requirement, nominate that responsible party as follows:
  • Under 'Scope', press the Maint Wk Resp Party/Pool 'abc' button;

  • Select the desired entity from the LoV presented.
  • How to Establish Defaults for Creating New Jobs & Work Orders
    Defaults can be established for the responsibilities for the set of Jobs/WO's to be created.
    Under 'Responsibilities':

  • Press the OU 'abc' button;

  • Select the desired OU/Department from the LoV presented.

  • Note: This identifies which Department has operational responsibility

  • Press the Job Manager 'abc' button;

  • Select the desired Job Manager from the LoV presented.

  • Note: This identifies who will manage the Job.

  • Press the Work Resp Party or Assignment Pool 'abc' button;

  • Select the entity who will be responsible for doing the work.

  • Note: This either enters the assignee or identifies the pool of people from which the assignee can be selected.

    Note: These options apply to:
    1. jobs created manually (using the Step-by-Step functionality);
    2. jobs created using Fast Track Scheduling if these options have not been set on the Asset Maint Reqmt, however, if they have been entered there, the options selected here will over-riden.
    Note: These options can be changed at any time on the Job Details DES.

    How to set the Default for the WO print-out

  • Press the 'Settings' button;

  • Under 'Printing', select the checkbox corresponding to the format required;

  • Note: Currently only one format is available and that is to produce the WO as a PDF file. Future options will allow:
  • an e-mail, directed to the assignee, to be created, containing all the WO details (this option is already available in the Step-by-Step functionality);

  • an e-GRAM, directed to the assignee, using the CBS messaging system (establish hyperlink to e-GRAM explanation).
  • How to Update Your User Profile
    Note: The User Profile only needs to be set the first time the User performs scheduling, so it does not need to be altered unless there is a change to any of the options. If the options need to change for a one-time use only, the User Profile does not need to be changed as the next time the Scheduling Settings & Defaults is opened, the Profile settings will be restored. Profile settings can be restored at any time by R-Clicking the 'Store All' button and selecting 'Repopulate Scope & Defaults'.
    After selecting the options required (as above):

  • Press 'Store All';

  • Press 'Done' (to close form).
