Work Preferences

How many times have you heard someone say that they wish they could change something at work?

Almost every day, a large proportion of staff are less than happy with their work environment or conditions.

Of course, they have long since stopped wishing for something to change, because they know that the consequences for doing so, is to be seen as a whinger or trouble-maker … someone who is never happy with their lot.

Studies show that staff satisfaction is a major determinant of sustainable productivity and staff performance. Yet so many enterprises do not score well on staff cultural surveys.

It is also true that when staff are not thinking about how bad things are, and morale is high, the enterprise can get on with the mission and customer service improves out of sight.

There are always short-term gains to be had if supervisors get out the whip or the carrots, but managers often dispair about achieving a long-term sustainable culture where staff work preferences are truly met.

Up till now, enterprises have not had a reliable and automated way of recognizing, recording or meeting such staff preferences. In addition, what one staff member wants often seems to directly conflict with that of another. Management may also prefer different settings for a particular staff member to the preferences of that member of staff.

Compass Business Suite solves that conundrum, once and for all. Compass allows staff to nominate a range of preferences including when they wish to work, who they wish to work with, the type of work or role they undertake, and the location or service area in which they wish to serve.
